NO DESK FOR STUDENTS TO WRITE ON
60+ Grade four (4) Students attending Kerea Primary School had to take down notes while sitting on the floor.
This had been an ongoing issue for the school since it's resumption, on the 23rd of January 2023.
Grade 4B students taking notes whilst sitting on the floor of their classroom.
The Head Teacher Mr. Bugave Borana added that this year's Government Subsidy is paid only for the first quarter and the second and third quarter payment's are yet to be made.
Because of the little money we have in our school operating account, we cannot quickly construct desk for our students or buy them new ones just yet.
He said, they have other areas that need money to be prioritized while the Govt pay in the other half of the Subsidy payment.
Kerea Primary School is approximately 29 years old since it's establishment in the year 1994.
The school lacks support from local level government (LLG), Business houses, NGOs and other donor agencies.
Their Grade 4 students have been sitting on the floor and writing, ever since!
It's really a worse case scenario.
